Engineers/producers Caggiano, Regina and Eddie Wohl also rely on a modified Yamaha O2R V.2 w/ Apogee Converters, Apple G4, and G3 computers running MOTU Digital Performer and Digidesign Pro Tools 5.1 systems, and a Tascam 2424 Digital Multitrack HD Recorder. Red Clay also includes Summit Audio, Empirical Labs, dBx, Focusrite, Amek and Avalon compressors, preamps and EQs. "We track most of the music right here in the studio and then mix it down in the same space, so we know exactly what the mix will sound like when it leaves here," says Wohl. "We have invested a lot of time and energy into Red Clay, and the Hafler monitors have been here since the beginning and have contributed to our success. They're rugged, reliable, powerful and sound great." Caggiano adds that Scrap 60 is planning on getting another pair of TRM8.1 monitors to bring with them when working at other studios.
